Short parody rap from Minecon 2016 roasting Minecraft creator Notch, with boasts about golden boots and watches, used in Minecraft meme edits.

This is a short, boastful parody rap aimed squarely at Notch, the creator of Minecraft, performed in the orbit of Minecon 2016. The vocal rides a simple beat while rattling off bragging lines about running things, time being money, a golden watch, cracking rocks, and golden boots. The delivery is deliberately over the top, mixing gamer flexing with a mock diss track energy. It lands less like a serious insult and more like an in-joke for players who know the items, mining references, and the odd celebrity status Notch held within the community at the time.

Minecon was Mojang's official Minecraft convention, and the 2016 event kept the fandom tradition of parody songs and playful Notch jokes alive. Notch, real name Markus Persson, created Minecraft before selling Mojang to Microsoft in 2014, which made him an easy target for affectionate roasting. Clips of the insult rap circulated as a standalone meme sound, often paired in edits with the Minecraft Damage sound and other game effects. Its short length and specific item references keep it circulating in Minecraft edits long after the convention itself.

Notch is the nickname of Markus Persson, the Swedish developer who created Minecraft and founded Mojang. He sold Mojang to Microsoft in 2014, but remained a frequent subject of jokes, songs, and memes within the Minecraft community.

How do creators use this sound?

Creators drop it over Minecraft gameplay when a player shows off golden gear, mines valuable blocks, or acts overly confident. The short bragging verse works as a punchline, so editors often trim gameplay audio down and let the vocal carry the joke.
