Andrew Walsh's wet throat noise from the TBTL podcast, nicknamed the marsupial gurgle or barbajagal, used as a reaction and podcast in-joke sound.

The marsupial gurgle is a short, wet vocal noise made by Andrew Walsh, co-host of the TBTL podcast. Lasting about a second, it sounds like a bubbling gargle caught in the back of the throat, rising and popping rather than forming a word. Walsh also calls the noise a barbajagal. Because it is so odd and animal-like, listeners treat it as a creature call rather than speech. In clips it lands as a moment of bewildered disgust or playful nonsense, breaking tension with a sound nobody expects from a human voice.

The gurgle originated on TBTL, short for Too Beautiful to Live, the daily comedy podcast co-hosted by Luke Burbank and Andrew Walsh. Walsh performed the throat noise on air as a bit, giving it the alternate name barbajagal, and regular listeners adopted both labels. Clips of the moment circulated among the show's community, known for preserving running jokes as short audio drops. Its appeal is its specificity: it is not a generic burp or growl, but a recognizable in-joke that signals shared knowledge of the show.
