Flowey's creepy laugh from Undertale is a high-pitched, mocking giggle from the game's villainous flower, used for betrayals, plot twists and dark meme moments.

Flowey's laugh is a shrill, wheezing giggle that starts almost playfully before turning sharp and unhinged, like a cartoon villain who has just revealed a trap. The voice is high and childlike, which makes it feel more unsettling than a deep, monstrous roar, because the cruelty sounds cheerful rather than angry. In a video it lands as an instant signal that something innocent has gone wrong, shifting a cute or calm scene into menace in less than a second. Listeners recognise the sudden change in tone, and the contrast between the flower's friendly appearance and that mocking laughter is what makes the moment stick.

Flowey is the first character players meet in Undertale, the 2015 role-playing game by Toby Fox, and his laugh became closely linked to the game's deceptive opening and its darker turns. Clips of the giggle spread through Let's Plays, Undertale edits and meme videos, where fans used it to signal a fake-out or a character turning villainous. Because Undertale remains widely played and quoted, the laugh is instantly recognisable to its audience, even outside the game, and it still works as shorthand for cheerful menace in short-form video.

Who is Flowey and where does this laugh come from?

Flowey is a talking flower and the first character players encounter in Undertale, the 2015 game by Toby Fox. His laugh is associated with his deceptive, mocking personality and the game's darker twists.

Why is Flowey's laugh so popular in memes?

Its high, cheerful tone contrasts sharply with its cruel meaning, making it perfect for betrayals and fake-outs. That contrast is easy to recognise, even for viewers who have not played Undertale, so it works well in short clips.

How can creators use the Flowey laugh in a video?

Place it at the exact moment of a reveal or betrayal, after a brief pause in the music. It works best as a single, short burst rather than a loop, so the joke lands before the high-pitched sound becomes distracting.
