Dennis Green delivers his famous Bears are who we thought they were rant from 2006, a clip used for sports meltdowns and predictable letdowns.

Coach Dennis Green shouts the line in a furious postgame press conference, his voice rising with frustration after a blown lead. The short clip captures the peak of his rant, delivered fast, loud and exasperated, with each word punched for emphasis. It lands as both genuinely angry and unintentionally funny, which is why the moment stuck. Played over a highlight or a reaction, it instantly frames someone or something as exactly as disappointing as expected, turning a predictable failure into a punchline the audience recognises at once.

The line comes from Arizona Cardinals coach Dennis Green after a Monday Night Football loss to the Chicago Bears on October 16, 2006. Arizona led 20-0 but lost 24-23 despite dominating Chicago's offense, prompting Green's outburst at reporters. The rant was replayed endlessly on sports television, later parodied in commercials and highlight packages, and became shorthand online for a team or person performing exactly as their reputation suggested, whether in sports debates, gaming clips or reaction edits.
