About this sound

A piercing, high metallic screech labeled as a Wendigo and Sandpoint Devil sound, used to intensify horror reveals, creature attacks, and dark edits.

This six-second horror effect delivers a sustained, high-pitched metallic screech associated with a Wendigo or Sandpoint Devil. Its sharp tone resembles a creature’s cry blended with scraping, resonant metal, producing an unnatural sound that feels both mechanical and animalistic. The rising tension and abrasive texture can make a monster reveal, unseen threat, or sudden chase feel more disturbing. Because the clip lasts longer than a quick stinger, it can also hold attention through a transformation shot or a slow camera move into darkness.

The clip is identified in its metadata as “Wendigo High Metallic Screetch” and credits Thomas Sarnari as the artist. Its published description also associates the noise with the Sandpoint Devil, another creature label used in horror-themed media. No specific film, game, platform, or release year is established by the available information. Online, effects like this remain useful because their harsh metallic pitch quickly signals supernatural danger, making them effective in monster edits, tabletop sessions, gameplay videos, and short-form horror scenes.
