About this sound

The stretched-out 'Wassup' yell made famous by the Budweiser ad and Scary Movie. People use it in memes, intros and loud greeting edits.

This sound is the long, exaggerated 'Wassup' or 'Wazaaaaah' shout used as a playful, over-the-top greeting. It starts with a drawn-out opening syllable and peaks in a loud, goofy yell that instantly changes the mood of a clip. Because it is so recognizable, it works as a quick punchline for chaotic entrances, surprise calls, or edits where someone suddenly appears on screen with too much energy. The humor comes from how dramatic and unnecessary the greeting feels, which makes even ordinary moments seem ridiculous.

This sound refers to the famous 'Wassup' catchphrase that spread widely from a Budweiser ad released in 1999 and reached another wave of popularity through Scary Movie in 2000. Online, people often spell it in stretched forms like 'Wazaaaaah' to match the delivery. It stayed popular because the yell is instantly recognizable, easy to imitate, and perfect for exaggerated greetings in short comedy edits, remixes, and reaction clips across social platforms.
