About this sound

A short Moroccan Darija voice clip from an unidentified recording, shouting “wa weld l9hba,” a vulgar insult used for angry reactions and abrupt punchlines.

This brief voice clip features a person forcefully shouting “wa weld l9hba,” a highly vulgar insult in Moroccan Darija. The sharp delivery and raised volume make it sound like an explosive response during an argument or moment of disbelief. Because the recording lasts only a few seconds, it lands quickly without interrupting the pace of an edit. Viewers familiar with Darija immediately recognize the hostile meaning, while others can still understand the emotion through the speaker’s aggressive tone and emphatic delivery.

The clip is spoken in Moroccan Darija and circulated under Latin-character spellings such as “wa weld l9hba” and “wa wld l97ba.” Its original recording, speaker, and date are not reliably identified. Numbered spellings are common in online Arabic transliteration, where numerals represent Arabic sounds that lack direct Latin equivalents. The audio continues to appear in reaction edits and shared voice clips because its brief runtime, unmistakably angry delivery, and compact phrasing make it easy to place after a provocative or absurd moment.
