About this sound

A short Tom and Jerry yelling sound from the classic cartoon, used in memes, reaction edits and chaotic fail clips when a scene suddenly turns loud.

This clip captures the exaggerated yelling style people associate with Tom and Jerry, the long-running animated cat-and-mouse cartoon. It is loud, sharp and instantly comedic, with the kind of frantic energy that fits slapstick perfectly. Because the series is known for over-the-top chases and pain reactions, this sound lands as a fast punchline when something goes wrong, gets revealed or spirals into chaos. Viewers recognize the cartoon tone right away, so it adds panic, surprise and a playful old-school feel without needing any extra setup.

Tom and Jerry began as an MGM animated series in 1940, and its frantic shouting, shrieks and chase sounds became part of its signature style across decades of shorts and TV reruns. Online, short clips labeled as Tom and Jerry yelling spread through meme edits, reposts and reaction videos because the sound reads instantly as cartoon panic. It still shows up in fast comedy edits for the same reason creators use a scream meme: it exaggerates a moment without needing dialogue context.
