About this sound

Sisyphus Prime delivers his threatening “This will hurt” line in ULTRAKILL, a sharp game voice clip used before painful fails or explosive hits.

This short ULTRAKILL clip captures Sisyphus Prime declaring, “This will hurt,” with forceful confidence before an explosive impact. His deep, imposing delivery turns the warning into both a genuine threat and a compact reaction meme. The brief pause and sudden burst give the audio an effective setup-and-payoff structure, making an incoming hit feel heavier and a failed move seem more dramatic. It can add tension before a collision, exaggerate slapstick pain, or signal that someone is about to face an especially punishing consequence.

The line comes from Sisyphus Prime, a powerful boss in the fast-paced shooter ULTRAKILL. The character appears in the P-2 level, Wait of the World, which was added during the game’s early-access development in 2023. Voiced by Lenval Brown, Sisyphus Prime became recognizable for his commanding delivery and aggressive combat dialogue. Short edits of “This will hurt” spread through gameplay videos, animations, and reaction memes because the warning creates an immediate setup for a hard impact, sudden failure, or deliberately excessive punishment.
