About this sound

The classic losing horn sound from The Price Is Right, used in memes and edits when someone gets something badly wrong or fails hard.

This clip is the familiar low, drooping horn from The Price Is Right, often nicknamed the foghorn or losing horn. It has a slow, descending tone that instantly signals a wrong guess, a bust, or an awkward miss. Even in a very short clip, it lands like a punchline and tells the viewer that something did not go to plan. Creators use it to underline failed predictions, bad attempts, unlucky moments, or any scene where the joke works better with a dramatic game show style letdown.

This sound is associated with The Price Is Right, the long-running television game show known for its prize reveals and contestant guesses. Online, the descending horn became a shorthand for failure, especially in meme edits, compilations, and reaction videos. Its appeal is simple: viewers immediately understand the joke without any setup. It remains popular because the sound is brief, recognizable, and easy to drop onto moments where someone gets an answer spectacularly wrong or watches a plan fall apart.
