About this sound

A short scream scare sound used for jump scares, prank edits and surprise reveals. Popular in meme videos when something sudden needs an extra shock.

This clip is a brief, sharp scream designed to create an instant scare. It hits fast, with a human shout that feels sudden and intense, making it ideal for jump-cut moments, fake horror setups and exaggerated reaction edits. Because it is short and direct, the sound lands best when paired with an unexpected visual change or a dramatic zoom. Viewers usually read it as a classic shock cue, so it adds tension for a split second and then often turns the moment into a joke.

This sound is commonly shared online as a generic scare scream rather than a clip tied to one clearly documented movie, show or meme character. It appears in short edits, prank clips and reaction compilations, especially in Portuguese-speaking communities where "susto" simply means scare. Its staying power comes from how quickly it communicates shock in less than ten seconds. Creators still use it because the meaning is immediate: something appears suddenly, the scream hits, and the audience instantly understands the joke or jump scare setup.
