About this sound

Peridot shouts “You clod!” in this short Steven Universe voice clip, used for playful insults, cartoon reactions, and moments of comic frustration.

This brief voice clip captures Peridot sharply yelling her signature insult, “You clod!” The delivery is loud, clipped, and packed with the character’s familiar mix of irritation and superiority. Because the line lasts little more than a second, it creates an immediate comedic sting without interrupting the pace of a video. Viewers familiar with Steven Universe recognize the phrase instantly, while others can still read it as an exaggerated cartoon put-down. Its forceful tone works especially well as a reaction to foolish decisions, obvious mistakes, or confidently incorrect statements.

“You clod!” is closely associated with Peridot from Steven Universe, the Cartoon Network animated series created by Rebecca Sugar that premiered in 2013. Peridot, voiced by Shelby Rabara, frequently uses “clod” as a dismissive insult, making the word one of her most recognizable verbal habits. Fans carried the phrase beyond the series through reaction clips, compilations, memes, and animated edits. It remains useful because the abrupt delivery communicates annoyance immediately while retaining the exaggerated, playful quality of a cartoon insult.
