About this sound

A button voice says “Jim” in The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, creating a dry name mix-up creators use for introductions and identity jokes.

This short clip captures the name button saying “Jim” in The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. The single spoken name is delivered cleanly and without fanfare, making the moment funny through its blunt simplicity and the game’s deliberately awkward presentation. Its abrupt timing works especially well when someone is introduced by the wrong name, a label fails to match the person shown, or an elaborate setup ends with an underwhelming answer. The brief duration also makes the audio easy to repeat for increasingly absurd name jokes.

The Jim button appears in The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, released in 2022. It is found among the exhibits in the game’s New Content area, where a promised button that says the player’s name instead produces “Jim.” The mismatch fits the game’s humor about unfinished features, player expectations, and unreliable presentation. Clips of the response remain useful online because the isolated word is instantly understandable and can turn almost any incorrect introduction or identity reveal into a compact gaming joke.
