About this sound

The classic Sonic coin pickup sound from the Sonic games, used in edits, gaming clips and memes to signal a quick reward or successful moment.

This sound is the bright, instantly recognisable pickup chime heard when collecting a ring in Sonic games. It is short, clean and upbeat, with a crisp arcade tone that reads as a tiny win the moment it plays. In videos, people use it to highlight points, cash, loot, good decisions or any fast reward on screen. Because the clip is so brief, it lands well as a punchy accent without covering dialogue, and it gives even simple edits a playful retro game feel.

This sound is widely recognised as the ring pickup cue from the Sonic the Hedgehog game series. Across online edits, it became a shorthand for earning something valuable, whether that is coins, points, loot or approval. Its staying power comes from how fast and readable it is: one short chime instantly communicates success. Creators often use it alongside other game reward sounds such as the Zelda - Item Get sound when they want a stronger achievement beat.
