About this sound

The familiar Slack notification sound from the workplace chat app, used in memes, office skits and edits to signal a new message or sudden interruption.

This clip is the classic Slack new message alert, a short, clean notification tone heard in the Slack chat app. It has a soft, rounded electronic sound that feels instantly recognisable to anyone who works online or spends time in team channels. Because it is brief and neutral, it fits both comedy and everyday edits. In videos, it usually signals an incoming message, a work interruption or an awkward moment when someone gets pinged at exactly the wrong time, making viewers immediately think of office chats and remote work.

This sound comes from Slack, the team messaging app widely used for workplace communication. The notification became familiar through daily office life, remote work and screen-recorded content shared across social platforms. Creators use it because listeners instantly understand the meaning of a new chat message without needing any explanation. Its popularity has lasted because the tone is short, clear and strongly associated with modern work, group channels and the feeling of being pinged in the middle of something else.
