About this sound

The iconic Shoryuken attack shout from Street Fighter, used in gaming memes, fight edits and sudden comeback clips for a dramatic uppercut moment.

This sound is the sharp, energetic "Shoryuken" attack call made during Street Fighter's famous rising uppercut move. It is short, punchy and instantly recognizable to fighting game fans, with a clipped vocal burst that feels explosive even in a one-second clip. Creators use it to sell impact, surprise and last-second reversals, especially when a video shows someone bouncing back, launching upward or landing a clean hit. The sound gives clips an arcade-fighter feel and adds a playful sense of over-the-top action.

Shoryuken is one of the signature move calls from Capcom's Street Fighter series, most closely associated with Ryu and Ken. The word became famous through arcade and console fighting games and later spread into meme culture through combo videos, parody edits and reaction clips. It still gets used because even non-players recognize it as the sound of a dramatic rising hit, much like Boom! Headshot! became shorthand for a perfectly timed strike.
