About this sound

A short scary boom sound effect used in memes, jump cuts and suspense edits when creators want a sudden dramatic hit or eerie reveal.

This clip is a brief, ominous boom-style sound effect with a heavy, dramatic hit and a slightly creepy feel. It lands fast, then hangs just long enough to make a moment feel tense or exaggerated. Creators use it to underline a reveal, a stare, a zoom-in or an unexpected cut that needs more impact. The sound works because it instantly tells the viewer that something serious, weird or intentionally over-the-top is happening, even when the video itself is playful or absurd.

This sound is mainly used online as a short scary boom or dramatic stinger rather than as a clearly credited quote or song clip. Its exact origin is not reliably identified from the available information, but it fits a common meme editing style built around sudden impact sounds, eerie pauses and fast zoom-ins. Creators keep using this type of effect because it is simple, recognizable in context and effective for turning an ordinary reaction shot or reveal into something that feels suspenseful, uncanny or intentionally exaggerated.
