About this sound

A rapid cartoon footsteps sound with xylophone-like notes from Donald Gets Drafted, often used for sneaking, panic runs, and slapstick chase edits.

This clip is a very short burst of fast, tiptoeing cartoon movement: tiny running footsteps paired with bright xylophone scale hits. The sound feels light, frantic, and sneaky at the same time, like a character darting off-screen or scrambling to avoid being caught. Because it lands in a split second, it works best as a punchy accent rather than a full scene bed. Viewers usually read it as classic animated comedy, adding speed, tension, and a playful sense of chaos to quick visual gags.

The published source for this clip points to the Donald Duck cartoon Donald Gets Drafted, released in 1942. It is a classic studio-era cartoon effect, built around exaggerated movement rather than realism, which is why it still reads clearly in modern short edits. Creators keep using it because the combination of rapid footsteps and bright pitched hits instantly signals sneaking, scrambling, or comic panic, even when the visual lasts less than a second.
