About this sound

A short "push the button" meme sound used for dramatic choices, risky jokes and fake countdown moments in edits, reaction clips and button press memes.

This clip is a brief spoken "push the button" cue with an urgent, slightly exaggerated delivery that makes a simple action feel much bigger than it is. The humor comes from the build-up around pressing a button, whether the moment is dangerous, tempting or obviously a bad idea. In edits, it works as a punchy prompt right before a reveal, failure, explosion or sudden change on screen. Because the line is so direct, viewers instantly understand the joke and anticipate consequences, which makes the timing of the next cut especially important.

The exact source of this particular "push the button" clip is unclear, but the phrase has become a durable online reaction sound for edits built around temptation, danger and instant consequences. It spread through short meme videos, soundboards and reposted compilations where a literal or metaphorical button press sets up the joke. Creators still use it because the instruction is instantly recognizable and easy to pair with impact sounds, dramatic zooms or a shocking reveal right after the press.
