About this sound

A petir thunder sound effect, with a sharp lightning crack and rumbling storm tail. Used in edits, horror clips and dramatic weather memes.

This clip is a petir sound, the Indonesian term commonly used for thunder or lightning effects. It starts with a sudden, bright crack and rolls into a low stormy rumble, giving scenes an instant sense of danger or drama. The sound feels cinematic and heavy, like a storm breaking right overhead. Creators use it to punctuate scary moments, reveal shocking twists, or add impact to weather footage. Even in short meme edits, it quickly signals tension, surprise, or an ominous change in the scene.

Petir is simply the Indonesian word for thunder, so this sound is typically searched and shared as a general thunder or lightning effect rather than a quote from a specific show or meme. Sounds like this spread widely through mobile editors, short video apps, and chat groups because they instantly add tension with one hit. It remains popular because thunder is universally recognizable and works across horror clips, dramatic transitions, weather edits, and suspenseful reaction videos without needing any extra context.
