About this sound

A clip of the Peronist chant “Perón, Perón, qué grande sos” from Argentina, used in political memes, edits and posts about Peronism.

This sound is a short clip of the well-known Argentine Peronist chant “Perón, Perón, qué grande sos.” It usually features a group vocal delivery with a march-like, rally feel that sounds instantly political and recognisable to Spanish-speaking audiences. The tone is celebratory, loud and communal, so it can make a video feel ironic, triumphant or openly partisan depending on the context. Because the phrase is so closely tied to Juan Perón and Peronism, even a brief snippet quickly signals Argentine politics, campaign humor or a joke about mass support and political identity.

“Perón, Perón, qué grande sos” is a famous line from the Marcha Peronista, the political march associated with Juan Domingo Perón and the Peronist movement in Argentina. Over time, the chant moved beyond rallies and became a familiar reference in TV clips, internet memes and social posts. It remains widely used because a second of the melody and wording is enough to evoke Peronism, party identity, nostalgia, irony or a joke about political fandom in Argentina.
