About this sound

A short, sinister Pennywise laugh associated with the clown from It, used in horror edits, jump-scare clips, creepy memes, and Halloween videos.

This brief audio clip captures the sinister laughter associated with Pennywise, the shape-shifting clown from It. The laugh is sharp, theatrical, and unsettling, creating the sense that something threatening is about to appear. Its compact length makes it effective as a sudden interruption rather than a long horror sequence. In videos, it can turn an ordinary smile, awkward pause, dark reveal, or clown costume into a disturbing moment. The familiar evil-clown tone also works comedically when paired with harmless behavior that looks unexpectedly menacing.

Pennywise is the central supernatural antagonist of Stephen King’s 1986 novel It. The character later appeared in the 1990 television miniseries and the 2017 and 2019 film adaptations, establishing the evil clown as a major horror icon. The precise production source of this short laugh is not confirmed, so it is best understood as a Pennywise-associated audio meme. It continues to circulate in horror edits, Halloween posts, reaction videos, and jokes that contrast cheerful clown imagery with threatening behavior.
