This clip is the drawn-out "Oh, my emeralds" groan from SnapCube's Sonic Adventure 2 fandub, delivered with dramatic pain and total exasperation. The voice acting is exaggerated in the best way, turning a simple complaint into a ridiculous meltdown that instantly reads as cartoon suffering. Creators use it when a character gets hit, loses something important, or reacts way too hard to a minor setback. It lands especially well in edits that lean into chaos, overacting, or fake emotional damage for comedic effect.

This sound comes from SnapCube's Sonic Adventure 2 fandub, a comedic re-voicing of the 2001 game that became widely quoted online. Individual lines from the dub spread across YouTube, TikTok, and meme edits because of the cast's deliberately over-the-top delivery. "Oh, my emeralds" stuck around as a quick reaction clip for pain, frustration, or theatrical despair. It is still used because even people who do not know the full dub immediately understand the joke from the vocal performance alone.
