About this sound

A short meme fart clip with a slap-like hit and a vocal tone that can sound like a shouted word. People use it for goofy fails, roast edits, and sudden punchlines.

This sound is a brief comedy fart effect with a sharp, smacking attack at the start and a squashed tone that almost resembles someone blurting out a word. That strange voice-like quality is what makes it stand out from a normal fart noise. It lands fast, feels a little rude, and usually gets used as an instant joke button after an awkward moment, a dumb decision, or a visual hit. The clip is short enough to work as a clean cutoff, but weird enough to make the moment feel intentionally absurd.

The exact source of this clip is unclear, but it commonly appears on meme soundboards and short-form edits under the name Nerf This Slap Fart. Its spread comes from the unusual way the fart seems to form a voice-like syllable, which makes it more memorable than a standard gas sound. Creators keep using it because it fits fast joke timing and exaggerated fail edits. It also sits alongside other lowbrow meme effects like fart with reverb and broader goofy ahh sounds in remix culture.
