About this sound

The short 'My leg!' yell from SpongeBob SquarePants, used in memes and edits to punctuate slapstick fails, sudden pain, and chaotic cartoon moments.

This clip is the quick, panicked shout of “My leg!” made famous by a recurring fish character in SpongeBob SquarePants. It is extremely short, sharp, and instantly readable, which makes it hit hard right after someone trips, gets launched, or suffers a ridiculous on-screen fail. The voice delivery is dramatic enough to sell the joke without needing extra context, so viewers recognize it as cartoon pain rather than anything serious. That balance is why it works so well in short meme edits, reaction posts, and fast comedic cuts.

The “My leg!” quote comes from SpongeBob SquarePants, where a recurring background fish character later identified by fans as Fred shouts it during accidents and crowd chaos. The line became one of the show’s most reused injury gags and spread widely through reaction videos, compilations, and short meme edits. Online, people often search for the clip as my leg fish or pair it with other SpongeBob audio for exaggerated cartoon-style pain. Its staying power comes from being brief, recognizable, and perfectly timed for impact jokes.
