About this sound

Mico is a loud, drawn-out screaming monkey clip with no reliably identified source, used in chaotic gameplay, frustration, and absurd reaction edits.

The Mico sound is an extended monkey-like outburst that quickly rises into a harsh, frantic scream. Its exaggerated delivery makes an ordinary moment feel suddenly chaotic, as if a character has completely lost control. The clip works especially well when a game goes wrong, someone reacts far too strongly, or an edit cuts to an unexpected disaster. Because the cry continues for several seconds, it can carry an entire reaction sequence rather than serving as a brief accent. The rough, piercing tone gives viewers an immediate sense of panic, anger, or comic desperation.

This clip circulates under the name Mico and is also described in Spanish as Chango Gritón, meaning a loud or screaming monkey. Its original recording, performer, and first upload are not reliably documented, so it is better known through repeated use in short edits and soundboards than through a confirmed source. The sustained cry remains useful because creators can trim it to different reaction lengths, while its instantly frantic tone works across gaming mishaps, chaotic videos, and exaggerated frustration memes.
