About this sound

A boosted clip of author Michael Rosen making a mouth click and saying “noice,” from his storytelling videos, often used to show comic approval.

This clip features English author and performer Michael Rosen delivering his famous “nice” reaction, commonly written online as “noice.” A sharp mouth click leads into the drawn-out word, while the boosted audio makes the voice sound louder, heavier, and more exaggerated than the original. The brief pause and satisfied delivery create an instantly recognizable reaction to something unexpectedly good. Its amplified finish adds extra punch, making an ordinary moment of approval feel comically intense and helping the joke land even when viewers already know what is coming.

The reaction comes from Michael Rosen’s filmed performance of “Hot Food,” one of the author’s animated storytelling and poetry pieces shared online. His distinctive pause, mouth noise, and pleased delivery of “nice” were isolated into short reaction clips, with “noice” becoming the popular phonetic spelling. Boosted edits increased the volume and low-end impact for sharper meme punchlines. It remains useful because it communicates approval immediately, much like BRUH communicates disbelief, while Rosen’s expressive delivery makes even minor successes seem unusually important.
