About this sound

A short Shrek-style holiday quote aimed at Donkey, used in Christmas memes, goofy edits and festive reaction posts with an over-the-top accent.

This clip is a very short meme quote in a gruff Shrek-like voice saying “Merry Christmas, Donkeh.” The delivery is quick, exaggerated and instantly recognizable because of the heavy accent and the way Donkey’s name is stretched at the end. It works as a punchline more than a full line of dialogue, giving videos a goofy holiday twist in under two seconds. Creators use it to cap off Christmas jokes, Shrek edits, ironic festive posts and meme compilations where a sudden recognizable character voice makes the moment land harder.

This sound is associated online with the Shrek meme world, especially impressions of Shrek addressing Donkey in a holiday context. Short clips like this spread through meme pages, soundboards and quick video edits because the accent is immediately recognizable even without setup. Its appeal comes from combining a familiar character voice with a simple Christmas greeting, making it easy to reuse every December. It often appears in the same kind of exaggerated reaction edits that also use a vine boom sound for emphasis.
