About this sound

The classic Mario coin sound from Nintendo's Super Mario games, used in edits, streams and memes to mark a win, pickup or small reward.

This sound is the familiar coin pickup chime associated with Mario games: a bright, quick electronic ping that instantly signals a reward. Even in a very short clip, it feels crisp, cheerful and satisfying, which is why creators use it to highlight points, cash, collectibles and little victories. The effect is simple, but viewers recognize it immediately, so it adds a playful retro game feel without needing any extra context. It works especially well when something on screen is earned, found or counted.

The Mario coin sound is one of the most recognizable game effects in Nintendo history, closely tied to the Super Mario series that became famous in the 1980s. Online, it spread far beyond gameplay because the sound clearly communicates a reward in a fraction of a second. That made it a natural fit for YouTube edits, Twitch alerts, short memes and reaction videos. It is still widely used because audiences instantly understand the joke or payoff the moment the coin chime plays.
