About this sound

A short Loadsamoney vocal clip from Harry Enfield's comic character, used in edits about sudden wealth, payday wins, lavish spending or flashy boasts.

This brief vocal clip captures the exaggerated money chant associated with Harry Enfield’s Loadsamoney character. The loudly spelled-out delivery builds into the familiar name, turning a simple boast into a punchy celebration of wealth. Its abrupt rhythm and comic confidence make it especially effective after someone reveals a profit, receives a payment or shows off an expensive purchase. Because the audio lasts just over a second, it lands quickly without interrupting the pace of a video, adding a knowingly obnoxious burst of triumph to the moment.

Loadsamoney was created and performed by British comedian Harry Enfield as a boastful plasterer obsessed with displaying his wealth. The character appeared on Channel 4’s Saturday Live during the late 1980s and satirized conspicuous spending in Britain’s economic boom. Enfield also released the novelty single “Loadsamoney (Doin’ Up the House)” in 1988. Short excerpts from the character’s chants remain useful online because their loud delivery instantly communicates cash, greed, payday excitement or an intentionally tasteless display of success.
