About this sound

A short 'Kobe' shout used when tossing something like a basketball shot. It comes from Kobe Bryant meme culture and fits trick shots, bins and lucky throws.

This sound is the quick, recognizable shout of “Kobe,” the call people make right as they throw something toward a target. It is usually used for a paper ball, trash can toss, or any improvised shot that imitates a basketball jumper. The clip is brief and punchy, so it lands fast in edits and instantly signals confidence, aim, or playful self-hype. Even when the throw misses, the sound adds a familiar joke that viewers understand right away and connects the moment to pickup basketball culture and internet memes.

The “Kobe” shot meme grew from people shouting Kobe Bryant’s name while throwing objects at a target, especially after his NBA fame made him a symbol of clutch shot-making. The joke spread widely through school, office and social media clips, where even simple trash can tosses were framed like game-winning basketball shots. It remains popular because the reference is immediate, the timing is simple, and the one-word call turns ordinary throws into a familiar sports meme.
