About this sound

The classic "Yes Rico, kaboom" clip from Madagascar and Penguins of Madagascar, used in memes and edits when chaos, destruction or a big payoff is coming.

This sound is the famous “Yes Rico, kaboom” moment associated with the Madagascar penguins. It is a short voice clip built around the word “kaboom,” delivered with a deadpan setup and a punchy payoff that instantly signals explosions, reckless plans, or controlled chaos. Even without visuals, the line feels dramatic and funny, which is why it works so well as a reaction sound. Creators use it to underline moments where someone is obviously about to make a bad idea worse in the most entertaining way possible.

This quote is widely linked to Rico and the penguins from the Madagascar franchise, especially through Penguins of Madagascar clips shared online. The line became a long-running meme because the setup is simple, the payoff is immediate, and the word “kaboom” is easy to drop into edits. It still shows up in reaction videos, gaming compilations, and short-form posts whenever a scene needs a quick signal that chaos, damage, or a hilariously bad decision is about to happen.
