About this sound

The classic “And his name is John Cena” prank-call meme with wrestling entrance music, used for surprise reveals, bait-and-switch edits, and loud punchlines.

This clip delivers the famous drawn-out announcement before dramatically revealing John Cena’s name. The announcer’s booming voice is immediately followed by energetic wrestling entrance music, creating a sudden burst of noise and excitement. Its exaggerated timing turns an ordinary setup into an absurd surprise, especially when the audience expects a completely different outcome. The contrast between the serious delivery and explosive musical payoff makes the audio effective for interruptions, fake reveals, trolling edits, and moments when someone unexpectedly enters or takes over a scene.

The audio comes from the Unexpected John Cena meme, built around a radio prank call promoting a fictional wrestling package. At the reveal, an announcer shouts John Cena’s name and his entrance theme crashes in. The prank recording circulated online in the early 2010s, then became a widely reused bait-and-switch format in short videos and remix edits. It remains recognizable because the drawn-out setup can interrupt almost any scene, while the booming name announcement delivers an immediate, absurd payoff.
