About this sound

The Jeopardy intro theme is the familiar opening music from the television quiz show, used in trivia videos, game-night edits, and suspenseful reveals.

This clip features the recognizable introductory music associated with Jeopardy, setting up the brisk, competitive atmosphere of the long-running television quiz show. Its polished game-show arrangement immediately suggests categories, clues, contestants, and questions phrased as responses. The music creates anticipation without needing dialogue, making viewers expect a challenge or sudden test of knowledge. Because the cue is closely connected with televised trivia, it also adds a playful sense of importance to ordinary questions, classroom quizzes, mock competitions, and comedic moments where someone is put on the spot.

Jeopardy began as an American television quiz show created by Merv Griffin in the 1960s, while the familiar syndicated version premiered in 1984. Music has always been central to its identity, from opening sequences to the better-known thinking cue played during Final Jeopardy. Intro clips spread online through trivia videos, parody game shows, classroom activities, and nostalgic television edits. The music remains useful because audiences quickly recognize its quiz-show context and understand that a question, category, or competitive reveal is about to follow.
