About this sound

The famous “It’s Pikachu” meme clip from a Pokémon joke reveal, used in videos for fake-outs, wrong guesses and sudden bait-and-switch punchlines.

This sound is the instantly recognizable “It’s Pikachu” line delivered with excited game-show energy. It is usually used as part of the Pokémon meme setup where a confident guess is followed by a wrong reveal, so the clip carries a built-in sense of anticipation and comic failure. The voice is bright, loud and dramatic, which makes even a short edit feel bigger and more deliberate. In reaction clips, countdowns and prediction jokes, it quickly signals that a fake-out or obvious answer is coming before the punchline lands.

The sound is tied to Pokémon and became popular online through meme edits built around the familiar “Who’s That Pokémon?” style reveal. The joke usually plays on certainty: the answer sounds obvious, then the next beat undercuts it for a fast punchline. Because Pokémon is so widely recognized, the clip kept spreading across short videos, compilations and reaction posts. It still gets used when creators want a clean setup for a mistaken guess, a fake reveal or a deliberately childish but effective bait-and-switch gag.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the “It’s Pikachu” sound from?

It is associated with Pokémon and the familiar reveal format where someone confidently names Pikachu before the joke turns with a wrong answer. Online, people mainly know it as a bait-and-switch meme sound rather than a standalone quote.

Why is the “It’s Pikachu” clip popular in memes?

It works because almost everyone recognizes Pikachu, so the setup feels obvious right away. That makes the sound perfect for fake reveals, wrong predictions and punchlines where confidence gets undercut a second later.

How do people use the “It’s Pikachu” sound in edits?

Creators usually place it before a reveal image, silhouette, choice screen or character intro. The humor lands when the next cut contradicts the confident guess, so it is often paired with abrupt transitions and reaction captions.
