About this sound

A classic sitcom laugh track sting used to make awkward moments feel fake-funny. Creators add it after bad jokes, fails and deadpan reactions.

This clip is a short burst of canned sitcom audience laughter, the kind of laugh track heard after a punchline in older TV comedies. It sounds immediate, bright and slightly exaggerated, which is exactly why it works so well as a meme reaction. Dropped after an awkward pause, weak joke or accidental fail, it instantly reframes the moment as intentionally cheesy. The effect on viewers is familiar and ironic: it tells them to read the scene like a corny studio sitcom, even when the original video is completely serious.

This sound is based on the familiar canned audience laughter associated with classic television sitcoms and sketch comedy. Online, short laugh track clips spread widely as reaction audio because they instantly signal sarcasm, cringe or forced humor. Editors use them to mimic the rhythm of old broadcast comedy, especially after weak one-liners or uncomfortable pauses. The format stays popular because viewers recognize the joke structure immediately, even in modern short-form videos, and the contrast between serious footage and a fake studio audience still lands quickly.

Creators usually place it right after a weak joke, uncomfortable silence or embarrassing mistake. The timing matters: adding it after the pause makes the moment feel intentionally staged, like an old multi-camera comedy with a live audience reaction.
