About this sound

The iconic 'Fatality' announcer line from Mortal Kombat, used in gaming clips, meme edits, and videos showing a total finish or brutal win.

This sound is the famous deep announcer voice saying “Fatality,” best known from Mortal Kombat. It is short, sharp, and dramatic, with that instantly recognizable arcade fighting game energy. The clip lands like a final stamp on a moment, making whatever comes before it feel decisive, over-the-top, or hilariously ruthless. Creators use it to turn simple fails, clapbacks, knockouts, and hard cuts into a joke about total domination, especially when someone gets completely shut down on screen.

“Fatality” comes from the Mortal Kombat video game series, where it plays during the finishing move prompt after a match-ending win. The line became one of the franchise’s most recognizable audio cues and spread far beyond fighting games through compilations, edits, and meme culture. It is still widely used because the word is instantly understood, the delivery is dramatic, and the clip neatly signals a complete defeat in just over a second.
