About this sound

A short Russian meme voice clip saying “eto ne rofl,” meaning “this is not a joke.” People use it in edits when they want to stress seriousness.

This sound is a short spoken Russian clip built around the phrase “eto ne rofl,” internet slang for “this is not a joke” or “I’m being serious.” The delivery is blunt and direct, which makes it funny when placed over something obviously overdramatic, chaotic or unexpectedly real. In memes, it works as a hard tonal switch: one second the video feels playful, and the next this voice cuts through to insist that the situation is actually serious. That contrast is what gives the sound its punch.

“Eto ne rofl” comes from Russian internet slang, where “rofl” is used to mean joking around or clowning. The phrase is commonly shared online as a short reaction audio to underline that someone is being completely serious. It spread in meme edits and reposted clips because the wording is simple, recognizable and easy to drop into many contexts. Its staying power comes from the contrast between playful internet slang and the very firm message that this is not a joke.
