About this sound

The famous "Detras de ti, imbecil" voice line from Resident Evil 4, used in memes, gaming edits and surprise clips when danger appears behind someone.

This clip is the iconic Spanish line "Detras de ti, imbecil" from Resident Evil 4. It is a sharp, taunting shout delivered by an enemy, usually heard when Leon is about to get attacked from behind. The line lands fast and instantly creates tension, surprise and a bit of dark humor at the same time. Because it warns the player a second too late, it became memorable far beyond the game itself. In videos, people use it to signal an incoming fail, a sneak attack or a sudden twist that the person on screen does not notice.

This quote is associated with Resident Evil 4, the 2005 survival horror game that became hugely popular across consoles and PC. Spanish enemy voice lines from the Ganados were especially memorable, and "Detras de ti, imbecil" spread online through gameplay videos, meme compilations and streamer reactions. It remains popular because the meaning is instantly clear even to many nonplayers: someone is in danger and does not realize it yet. That makes it useful well beyond Resident Evil edits.
