About this sound

The darts theme song is the riff from Planet Funk's Chase the Sun, heard at PDC events and used to bring crowd-chant energy to sports edits.

This short clip captures the instantly recognizable melody associated with professional darts: the main riff from Planet Funk’s Chase the Sun. Its bright synthesizer line follows a simple, chantable pattern that audiences often answer with a loud vocal refrain. The tune creates the feeling of a packed arena between matches, combining sporting excitement with a playful party atmosphere. Even without accompanying footage, the repeated notes quickly signal darts culture, lively crowds and televised tournament action, making the clip an effective musical cue for celebrations, entrances and competitive highlights.

The melody comes from Chase the Sun by Italian electronic group Planet Funk, released in 2000. It became closely connected with professional darts through televised PDC coverage and live tournament crowds, who sing along to its instrumental hook between play. Repeated broadcasts helped the tune become an unofficial darts anthem recognized beyond the original track. Its simple vocal pattern, festive atmosphere and association with crowd cheering keep it popular in darts compilations, sports reactions and videos recreating the energy of a packed arena.
