About this sound

A Yamaha XJ6 motorcycle engine repeatedly hits the rev limiter, creating sharp exhaust bursts used in bike edits, reels, and reaction clips.

This sound captures a Yamaha XJ6 engine being pushed to its rev limit for nearly thirty seconds. The motorcycle note rises quickly before breaking into a rough sequence of sharp, repeated exhaust pulses as the limiter holds the engine at its maximum speed. Known in Portuguese as a “corte de giro,” the effect feels loud, mechanical, and deliberately aggressive. It adds a sense of power and intensity to footage, making motorcycle reveals, fast transitions, and dramatic entrances feel more energetic while giving viewers the impression of standing close to a revving bike.

The label identifies the recording with the Yamaha XJ6, a motorcycle known for its inline-four engine sound. “Corte de giro” is a Portuguese phrase commonly used for hitting the rev limiter, while “cortando de giro” describes the engine repeatedly bouncing against it. Clips like this spread through motorcycle videos, social posts, and enthusiast edits because the rapid exhaust pulses are easy to synchronize with cuts. The sound remains useful wherever creators want an unmistakable burst of engine noise without using music or spoken dialogue.
