About this sound

The GLA Worker says “I'm hungry” when selected in Command & Conquer: Generals, a brief game voice line used for hunger jokes and reaction edits.

This short voice clip plays when the GLA Worker is selected in Command & Conquer: Generals. In a tired, strained delivery, the worker says “I'm hungry,” reflecting the faction's rough conditions and the unit's weary personality. The line lands as both bleak battlefield flavor and an unexpectedly relatable complaint. In edits, its abrupt timing can make an empty fridge, a delayed meal, or an exhausted character feel dramatically deprived, though the understated performance keeps the joke dry rather than explosive.

The line originates from Command & Conquer: Generals, the Windows real-time strategy game released in 2003. It belongs to the GLA Worker, a construction and resource-gathering unit whose selection responses help establish the faction's harsh, improvised setting. Players repeatedly heard the quote while managing workers during matches, making it familiar within the game's community. Short recordings later circulated through game soundboards, gameplay videos, and fan edits. Its concise wording remains useful because it communicates hunger instantly without needing additional context.
