About this sound

A blown-out ear rape version of the APT. 'apateu' hook from Rosé and Bruno Mars, used in loud meme edits, sudden zooms and chaotic punchlines.

This clip is a distorted, extra-loud version of the catchy 'apateu' chant from APT., pushed into classic ear rape territory with harsh clipping and exaggerated volume. Instead of sounding smooth or musical, it hits like a jump scare and instantly turns a normal moment into something chaotic and ridiculous. Creators use it when a reveal needs to feel intentionally over the top, especially in short meme edits where the joke lands through sheer loudness. It works best when the contrast between silence and the blast is part of the gag.

This sound is based on the 'apateu' hook from APT., the 2024 song by Rosé and Bruno Mars. Online, that chant spread quickly through short-form edits, remixes, and deliberately distorted meme uploads. The ear rape version became popular because the original hook is already repetitive and instantly recognizable, which makes it easy to flip into a loud punchline. It still shows up in chaotic meme compilations, reaction edits, and low-effort humor where sudden audio overload is the whole joke.
