About this sound

The clean Amen Break is an isolated drum loop from The Winstons’ 1969 track “Amen, Brother,” used in jungle, drum and bass, video edits, and memes.

This clean Amen Break clip captures the famous rolling drum solo without distracting dialogue or added effects. Its crisp snare hits, syncopated kick pattern, and lively cymbal work create an immediate burst of rhythmic momentum. The loop feels energetic yet flexible, making it equally effective beneath rapid cuts, dance sequences, gaming highlights, and deliberately chaotic jokes. Because the rhythm is instantly recognizable to many listeners, it can give a short video the feel of an old-school sample, a jungle track, or a fast-paced internet remix.

The Amen Break originated in “Amen, Brother,” a 1969 recording by the American soul group The Winstons. Drummer Gregory Coleman performed the brief solo that later became one of recorded music’s most widely sampled breaks. Producers reused and rearranged it throughout hip-hop, breakbeat, jungle, and drum and bass, often changing its speed and pitch. Its sharp syncopation remains useful in online edits because listeners quickly associate the pattern with acceleration, rhythmic intensity, and sample-based music culture.
