A short clip of the famous Roundball Rock basketball theme, best known from NBA on NBC and often used in SNL jokes, sports edits and parody intros.

This sound is a short burst of Roundball Rock, the instantly recognizable basketball theme built around bright brass, fast drums and a big TV-sports energy. It sounds triumphant, busy and a little over-the-top in the best way, which makes any clip feel like a dramatic game intro or highlight package. Even a mundane moment can suddenly seem important once this music hits. Viewers usually read it as a cue for basketball, broadcast nostalgia, or a joke that treats something ordinary like a nationally televised event.

Roundball Rock was composed by John Tesh as the theme for NBA on NBC in the 1990s, and it became one of the most recognizable pieces of basketball TV music in the United States. The tune has stayed popular through sports nostalgia, internet clips, and comedy references, including SNL sketches that play on its instantly big-game feel. People still use it because a few seconds of the melody immediately signal basketball coverage, retro broadcast style, and exaggerated importance.
