The full Morshu shopkeeper quote from the Zelda CD-i games, used in memes, edits and remixes whenever someone wants to pitch items in an absurd way.

This clip features Morshu, the bearded merchant best known for his stiff animation and unforgettable sales pitch in the Zelda CD-i games. The audio has a scratchy, old-game voice delivery that starts calm and transactional, then lands with a strangely dramatic rhythm that makes it instantly funny. People recognize it for lines about lamp oil, rope and bombs, and it works because the serious delivery clashes with the awkward visuals and dated voice acting. That contrast gives the sound a perfect deadpan meme feel.

Morshu is a merchant from Link: The Faces of Evil, one of the Philips CD-i Zelda games released in 1993. His line about lamp oil, rope and bombs became a long-running internet meme because of the game's unusual animation and voice acting. The quote spread through YouTube poops, remix videos and game meme compilations, then stayed popular as a shorthand for weird retro game dialogue. It often appears alongside other classic game meme sounds like the ROBLOX oof in chaotic edits.
