Kuromi's crying sound effect from Onegai My Melody, a sad whimper from the Sanrio character used in anime edits, reaction memes and sad or dramatic moments.

Kuromi's crying is a brief, high-pitched sob that captures the mischievous Sanrio character at her most vulnerable. The clip lasts just over three seconds, opening with a shaky intake of breath before dissolving into soft, wavering whimpers that sound both cartoonish and genuinely upset. Because Kuromi is usually confident and cheeky, hearing her cry lands as instantly sympathetic and a little funny, making the moment feel dramatic without becoming heavy. It works best as a quick emotional beat, turning a small setback, rejection or overreaction into something viewers recognise and feel in seconds.

Kuromi first appeared as the mischievous rival to My Melody in Sanrio's Onegai My Melody anime series, which began in Japan in 2005. The series followed My Melody and Kuromi in the human world, and Kuromi's dramatic, emotional reactions became a memorable part of her personality. Short audio clips from the show later circulated on soundboards and in fan-made anime edits, where a single cry could stand in for disappointment or melodrama. It remains useful because Sanrio fans recognise Kuromi instantly, and the sound carries a clear sad tone without needing dialogue or context.
