Short clip of the famous 'I get knocked down' lyric from Chumbawamba's 1997 hit Tubthumping, used in memes for fails, setbacks and instant recoveries.

This sound is the opening payoff line from Chumbawamba's song Tubthumping: 'I get knocked down.' In a short clip, it lands like a punchline, sounding upbeat, familiar and slightly dramatic at the same time. Creators use it when someone falls over, gets rejected, loses a round or takes an obvious setback on screen. Because so many people recognize the lyric, it quickly adds a comeback vibe even before the next moment happens, turning a simple fail into a more playful, resilient joke.

The clip comes from Tubthumping, the 1997 breakout single by British band Chumbawamba. The lyric became one of the song's most quoted moments because it sums up resilience in a simple, catchy way. Online, that line spread beyond the full track into short meme edits, fail compilations and comeback jokes. It still gets used because viewers recognize it immediately, and the phrase fits almost any moment where someone takes a hit, loses briefly or recovers with stubborn energy.
