Atilio Costa Febre delivers the line about River Plate being sent down to the B division, an Argentine commentary clip fans use for relegation banter.

In this short clip, Argentine sports commentator Atilio Costa Febre delivers the line about River Plate being sent down to the B division in a loud, dramatic, almost disbelieving tone that makes the moment feel both historic and humiliating. His voice rises on the key words, turning a simple football result into a piece of theatre that listeners instantly recognise even without seeing a match. The effect is part shock, part celebration and part mockery, which is why rival supporters love replaying it and River fans hear it as a painful reminder of one of the club's lowest moments.

The line refers to River Plate, one of Argentina's biggest football clubs, and its historic relegation from the top flight to the Primera B Nacional in 2011, a shock that dominated Argentine sport. Costa Febre, a well-known Argentine commentator closely associated with River Plate coverage, became linked to the moment through this emphatic delivery. Shared widely on social media and soundboards, the clip survived because it captures the disbelief of that day in a few seconds, making it an easy shorthand for any dramatic fall from the top.
