Sobre este som

The game over theme from the Japanese version of Sonic CD, a short retro game cue used in fail edits, loss screens and nostalgic Sega clips.

This clip is the game over music from the Japanese soundtrack of Sonic CD. It is a brief, moody retro cue with that distinctive early 90s Sega sound, landing somewhere between dramatic and melancholy rather than loud or shocking. Because it plays after a loss, it instantly signals failure, setback or the end of a run. In videos, people use it to underline missed jumps, bad decisions, sudden defeats or any moment where a joke needs a classic video game losing screen feel.

Sonic CD originally released in 1993 for the Sega CD, and its Japanese soundtrack differs from the North American one in several places. This game over cue comes from that Japanese audio set, which made it memorable to players comparing regional versions. It continues to circulate in retro gaming communities, soundtrack uploads and meme edits because the sound instantly reads as a vintage game failure screen while also tapping into nostalgia for Sega-era music.
